   Hello again!
Hope all is well where you are. Thanks so much for taking time to read
this little update. I'm writing you today from Laguna Beach, California.
We are wrapping up a week's vacation here...no painting competitions or
exhibitions to participate in this trip...just some nice time to relax
after a very busy spring and summer. Being the plein air painter that I
am, I just had to bring my paints though and did a couple of small
paintings yesterday (see below). I'll be heading out shortly to do one
more before we head out tomorrow. Just couldn't come to California and
not paint...it's too beautiful here. Hope you enjoy these images and
hope they brighten your day!

American Impressionist Society National Juried Exhibition
The 10th annual AIS National Juried Exhibition opens tomorrow night,
Friday October 23rd, at Saks Galleries of Cherry Creek in Denver,
Colorado. The reception will be held at the gallery, 3019 East 2nd
Avenue, Denver, from 5 to 8pm. Quang Ho will be the awarding judge for
the show. Quang will also be doing a painting demonstration on Saturday
the 24th at 10:30 am, also at the gallery. My painting, "Work Boats", is
included in this prestigious exhibit. You can view the entire exhibition
online at www.SaksGalleries.com. If you are in the Denver area, I hope
you'll stop by and say hi...my husband and I will be there!

  "Two For The Road"
An Exhibit of New and Recent Work by Debra Groesser and Stan Herd
The painting above, "Drama at Sunset" (30x40 oil), is one of my new
paintings that will be included in my upcoming exhibit with Kansas
artist Stan Herd at SouthWind Gallery in Topeka, Kansas. The show will
run from November 14th to December 31st with a reception on Friday,
December 4th from 6 to 8:30pm at the gallery. Stan and I will both be
showing landscape paintings and I will have a few still life pieces as
well. There will be small paintings available which will be perfect for
holiday gift giving too! SouthWind Gallery is located at 3074 SW 29th
St. in Topeka. For more information, visit www.southwindartgallery.com.

  Louisville Art Gallery Exhibit
There's still time to see the exhibit of work by Melissa Husby, Rob
Quinn and myself at Louisville Art Gallery. The exhibit ends on November
7th. Louisville Gallery is open on Saturdays and by appointment. Visit
www.louisvilleartgallery.com for more information. The next exhibit
there will be the Eight Annual Invitational Anniversary Show, which will
have a music theme this year. This show will open on November 21st and
run through January 2010. I plan to have another new painting finished
in time for this one!

  Miniature Show at Mountainsong Galleries
Mountainsong Galleries will be holding a special Christmas Miniature
Show from December 4th to 6th from 10am to 6pm. The miniature works of
art range in price from $50 to $995. My painting above, "Sweet Morning,
Cottage of Sweets" will be included in this event. Mountainsong
Galleries is located in Carmel, California, on Ocean Avenue between San
Carlos and Mission. For more information, visit their website at
www.mountainsonggalleries.com.

Fine Art Connoisseur and American Art Collector Magazine
I'm thrilled that American Art Collector Magazine is including me in
another editorial...this time on figurative paintings. This will appear
in their December issue. They have included me and my work in articles
now every month since July! My painting, "Cypress Breezes", will appear
in a full page ad for Mountainsong Galleries in the December issue of
Fine Art Connoisseur. The national exposure keeps coming...what a
blessing!

New Paintings!
Here are the two new paintings I did yesterday here in Laguna Beach,
California. I didn't have my SLR camera here to photograph the
paintings, so will update them on the website when I get home and can
get better photos with the "good" camera. I have also included photos of
the actual scene to the right of each painting, so you can get an idea
of what a beautiful day and beautiful place it was. Enjoy!

the studio when I get home!)

  Painting Demo on my Blog
I posted a quick "demo" of the painting above, "Garrapata Glory", which
I painted in California last month near Carmel. If you'd like to see it,
just pop over to my website, www.debragroesser.com, and click on the
link to my blog on the left side of the home page. The demo is titled
"The Process of a Plein Air Painting." I hope you enjoy seeing the
process!

As always, thanks again so much for taking time to read this and for
your continued support and encouragement. Until our next visit, here's
sending you some California sunshine...I wish you and yours all the
best!

Blessings,
Debra Joy Groesser
